Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger Point Therapy is a treatment for painful, tender, tight and over sensitised areas. When pressure is applied or the muscle shortened, the trigger is reduced and immediate relief generally occurs. Blood flow is stimulated to the area assuring tissues of healthy oxygenated blood.

A trigger point causes pain in skeletal muscle, either locally or referred to another part of the body along nerve pathways. They may exist without causing pain unless pressure is applied.

This type, however, influence muscle activation patterns, which can result in poorer muscle coordination and balance, which may eventually cause muscle pain, particularly if you’re placing repetitive stresses on your body or increasing your training programme or regime.
