Low Back Pain

Low Back Pain means different things to different people, as the Low Back Pain can range from below the ribs down to the tops of legs. This area of the body links the upper body to the pelvis via the spine and a considerable amount of soft tissue, which is primarily responsible for our upright stance as it resists gravity and bears our own weight before we even start our numerous movements of the day.

Pain in this region can come in the form of muscle spasms, inability to rise froma seat, unable to bear weight on one leg. It can be dull, sharp, local or widespread and it can come and go or become persistent and chronic.

Various conditions can affect the lumbar/sacral area, ranging from herniated discs, overuse and/or postural problems to scoliosis. Most of these conditions result in muscle imbalances, which can exacerbate pain and discomfort.

Neuromuscular therapy assesses and addresses these imbalances using trigger point therapy, myofacial release, soft tissue release and stretching.
